I have resisted the term “blawg” for some time. Something about it, perhaps, reminds me too much of the Georgia Bulldog football fans who used to drive through the streets of Tuscaloosa when I was a boy attending Alabama football games, with their calls of “Go-o-o Dawgs!” But now I’m ready to embrace the term, the inartful conflation of “blog” and “law,” because that is what this is going to be about.
The Bartlett Blawg is the portal for the public to enter this new firm, The Bartlett Law Firm, APLC. And not only to enter it, but to participate in a discussion of issues of the law, the practice of law, the profession of the law, and the substance of the law. You will see in other categories that I will post links to published decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court, the Louisiana Supreme Court, and Louisiana appellate courts. These courts, after all, are the focus of the practice here at The Bartlett Law Firm.
Here you will find discussion of those opinions, but also discussion of appellate practice, in general, tips for briefs, links to articles on oral argument, items of interest to appellate practitioners everywhere. Come back often, and add comments, both to the Bartlett Blawg posts and to the court opinion posts. Let this not just be the blog for this firm, but a community for you to hang out, listen in, and contribute.
I’m looking forward to meeting you all.
Best regards, Tad Bartlett
