LPM - Benchmark of progress

Yesterday, I experienced another benchmark along the way toward progress in starting what will hopefully continue to be a successful law practice.  As those of you paying close attention to the blawg entries here know, The Bartlett Law Firm is now just over two months along.  In those two-plus months, the Bartlett Blawg has attracted increasing readership, and several appellate matters in the U.S. Fifth Circuit and in Louisiana’s Third Circuit, for a couple different clients, have come my way.  Then, yesterday, I finished up one appellate brief for a client, and just a couple hours later, on the same day, I received a call from a new client seeking representation in Louisiana’s Fifth Circuit.  I’m pretty sure that finishing up one matter and getting a new matter in the same day - continuity of practice - is a good indicator and benchmark of progress in developing a law practice.  Thanks again to all those who are interested in what’s happening with this practice, as well as with what’s happening with U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Fifth Circuit, and Louisiana Supreme Court opinions.

Speaking of which, we’re getting back on with regularly scheduled programming. The Fifth Circuit spent a couple of days releasing only unpublished opinions, which I do not summarize here, and the U.S. Supreme Court has take a few days off from releasing end-of-term opinion. The U.S. Supreme Court released five more opinion this morning, which I will summarize and post later today, and has ten left in this term.
